On Trend

Has anyone else noticed that working out and being healthy is trendy now? And it’s awesome. You can’t get on social media without seeing posts of people’s transformations, health food, work outs, etc. Healthy foods like quinoa or kale are showing up everywhere. Everyone seems to be into some new workout like CrossFit or SoulCycle. People are doing Paleo diets or Whole30. Meal prepping is on everyone’s minds. This culture is incredible. My conversations with my friends always seem to be about what workout we did that day, what we meal prepped for the week, or what great deal we got on avocados at the grocery store or farmers market.


Whoever thought that being healthy would be trendy? But then again, there’s something wrong with this picture. Being healthy shouldn’t be trendy, the “popular” thing to be doing right now. It should just be what everyone does. I mean it’s your body, it’s who you are. Shouldn’t taking care of that be a priority and not something that’s just trendy? How you treat your body affects your life so much. 

My hope is that this “trend” or societal obsession becomes a way of life. That all of these trendy items like HIIT workouts, clean eating restaurants, etc. just become a way of life. That they become so embedded in people’s lives that they can’t imagine their lives without it. I mean how great do you feel when your treating your body right? It’s awesome isn’t it! So I just can’t see people wanting to do anything different that might change that. 

So continue being trendy and when this becomes the way of life, keep at it. Treat your body the way it deserves to be treated. With lots of love!
